It’s been a cracker of a year here in NZ, bit of a disaster for many but with every near miss, I’ve found, comes even greater new beginnings, so here’s to the 2012 next!

Corexit was used as an oil dispersant here in NZ, on the oil spill of the Rena Container Ship, grounded on the Astrolabe Reef near Tauranga, on NZ’s eastern coast.
Diane Sawyer of ABC World NEWS, reported in
May 2010 on the BP/Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico & the Exxon spill in Alaska years back…
Corexit has been known & found to kill all known sea life from sea level-down to 500 feet below… all living things, people included!
Now just 17 months later…
Corexit has been used here in NZ!
So much for NZ’s once well known brand…

So who authorized corexit here? I can well imagine the cover-up that has already begun!

Here’s the questions…
Who sold the Corexit to NZ & who accepted it here in our country, who authorized its use, who is going to do the clean up of the Clean-Up of the Corexit and who’s going to be responsible for it on our shores & then its drifting away with the tides, to the currents of the seas? Just watch the cover-ups on this one! The bucks surely will flow freely on this for a while and then ever so quietly, drift away with the outgoing tides.
Corexit disperses oil chunks into tiny beads, then flows away with the tides & into the currents, so that it becomes our planets problem. Make you wonder at all?

3NEWS (NZ) tonight – Nick Smith, NZ’s Environmental Minister said about Corexit…
`no more toxic than dish washing liquid.’ Where does NZ find these people?

Still more Corexit used today! Officials say around 200 litres of dispersant was used on a small, fresh spill of oil this morning, and they reported that will be the end of using Corexit… on this spill. So… will that be the end of using Corexit here in NZ then? When they began using it here, on the Rena, it was reported that every helicopter run sprayed 600 litres. How many runs in total… unknown! Results from the spraying… yet to be determined! Politicians involved… countless and who pays for them to do those jobs?

Lessons have been learnt, truths exposed, corruption & conspiracy theories abound… it’s all ongoing matters of our times. There’s still time to make things right, or is there? New Zealand’s still absolutely the best country I’ve ever lived in & I’ve lived in more than a few. I wouldn’t trade it here for anywhere else. Sometimes it just takes them a bit of time to get it right, NZ’s real good at that & they still say we’re Nuclear Free.
Who could have figured… a container ship the size of the Rena, let alone a kayak, somehow the thing ran smack up the middle of the Astrolabe Reef, at full speed ahead and that was that!
As to why I wrote this about Corexit… I want the Corexit dumpings stopped!
Our Planet is as strong as our weakest link, and there’s far too many of those out there right now.
Hopefully it will never be used on our New Zealand shores again!

What else… space junk from the UARS missed us here in NZ, that’s was a good thing & Rugby World Cup 2011 opened in Auckland, the America’s Cup World Series sailed in Plymouth…
but Nariscame’… a cure & a win for life &
Social Networking… we’re saved!!
So, the UARS… the Big Thunk from Space, flew by on the 24th Sept, that falling piece of space junk, 12,500 pounds of NASA satellite, that some of you heard about, well it just missed us here in NZ & Samoa… we’ve been spared for another day & China decided to fly again, launching their Tiangong-1 space lab on the 29th, to join the party of other space stations up there.
It’s been a different month globally, heaps more stuff & coming at us quicker, the world’s challenges intensifying & far more entertaining as we near the coming 2012!

Making a Difference… I read this today on something I received
An old man walked up a shore littered with thousands of starfish, beached and dying after a storm. A young man was picking them up and flinging them back into the ocean. “Why do you bother,” the old man scoffed. “You’re not saving enough to make a difference.” The young man picked up another starfish and sent it spinning back to the water.
“Made a difference to that one,” he said.
